WWF will "bang on about" double glazing to protect future existence of animals

WWF will The WWF has said it will not stop 'banging on about' the importance of double glazing and other emission-preventing measures until the world's governments make an agreement to reduce emissions by 40 per cent. The WWF has said it will "bang on about" double glazing until an agreement is made between governments to keep global temperature rises below two degrees Celsius.

Writing in the Daily Mail, WWF-UK's Colin Butfield said that between 20 and 30 per cent of the species on earth face extinction if temperatures are allowed to rise by two degrees Celsius.

Mr Butfield wrote that the WWF's scientists and field workers have been reporting the rapid decline of coral reefs in Belize and "unprecedented" rates of glacier melt in Nepal.

He estimated that if global temperatures are allowed to rise by three degrees celsius then "most ecosystems will be in serious trouble".

Developed countries, such as England and America must use the opportunity they have at the moment - the climate change conference in Copenhagen - to sign a commitment to making emissions cuts of at least 40 per cent by 2020, Mr Butfield wrote in the newspaper.

According to the Energy Saving Trust, there are many things that homeowners can do to play their part in reducing emissions and halting climate change.

It recommends installing double glazing and making sure cheap patio doors are well insulated.
