WI hall receives grant for double glazing

A WI hall is soon to benefit from double glazing windows A Women's Institute hall near Nottingham is soon to enjoy the money saving benefits of double glazing windows, thanks to a grant for an energy company.Members of the Watnall Women's Institute (WI) near Nottingham are soon to enjoy a warmer meeting hall having received a grant for the installation of double glazing windows.

The group was awarded £4,800 by the energy company E.ON to insulate their building and make it more energy efficient.

An insulated suspended ceiling is to be installed using the funding, this will reduce the volume of the hall that needs heating, which will cut its energy bills, as will the installation of double glazing throughout the centre.

Helen Rose from Watnall WI, said: "Thanks to this award from E.ON we're looking forward to reducing both our energy costs and carbon footprint.

"Our users will not only be pleased with the warmer environment but also with the savings made in outgoing costs."

A centre for disabled children is also set to get double glazing windows after staff at the Hilton Hotel, Coventry, raised £8,000 for the cause, the Coventry Telegraph reported recently.
