Wallpaper is still 'very much in fashion' Metallic papers are proving very popular at the moment.People considering carrying out home improvement projects to complement their new cheap double glazing have been told that wallpaper is still very much on trend.

Jan Williams, an assistant at Wallpaperdirect, said that thanks to a large number of makeover shows on television, papering is still "very much in fashion".

"At the moment metallics are quite big, flock has made a huge comeback in the last 18 months. Themes are big, [especially in] some of the children's papers that are coming through. But certainly some of the newer metallics [are big trends]," she went on to say.

Ms Williams went on to say that colours including limes, shocking pinks, lilacs and purples are very popular at the moment, with many patterns and designs harnessing these shades.

Her words came after Halifax revealed that 59 per cent of people are carrying out home improvements to spruce up the look and design of their property, while 52 per cent are doing so to update or modernise it.
