A mixture of different ethnic trends is the latest fashion when it comes to decorating new bedrooms, an interior design expert has suggested. Those looking to decorate their new bedrooms this season should consider opting for an eclectic mix of styles, the editor of an interior design magazine has suggested.Meg Crossley, a senior editor at Canadian House & Home magazine has noticed that people are mixing items from, or that are inspired by, different cultures when decorating their homes, the Toronto Star reports."We're looking for authenticity, grittiness. That's why people are looking for these ethnic influences. They feel like they have stories to tell," she told the newspaper. She went on to say that Indian, Asian and African are still strong, but Bohemian and gypsy influences from eastern Europe are also beginning to take their place in peoples homes, adding colour and bold patterns and prints.Ms Crossley warned that some of these trends can look cluttered and suggested that they should be kept to private spaces, such as new bedrooms, that can withstand such a combination of styles.According to the Echo Pilot, painting a room is the simplest way to give a room a completely new look.Posted by Lucy Pritchard.
