A blog posting on ShopshireStar.com stated that choosing a shade may seem straightforward, however, colour charts cannot be relied upon as they may not be all that accurate.

"If you're planning to paint a room over the Christmas break, you need to get tester pots now so you can try out the colours and live with them for a bit. Some companies produce painted colour charts, which are obviously more accurate than printed ones, but they aren’t necessarily foolproof," the author stated.

The article went on to say that paints containing natural pigments can vary in colour quite considerably, therefore it is important to get tester pots which come from the same batch.

Recently, Jessica Cumberbatch, writing for Shelterpop, stated that choosing a paint colour for bathroom quotes was a "pivotal decision".
