Specialist training needed for home improvement, expert says

Professional workers are needed An expert claims certain home improvement tasks require specialist electrical of plumbing training.Specialist training is needed in order to undertake some home improvement tasks, according to one expert.

Andrew Leech, director of the National Home Improvement Council, claims there are some DIY tasks which require specialist plumbing or electrical training, reports Met-uk.com.

People not holding this knowledge should look to get an estimate from a home improvement professional to carry out the work.

Mr Leech claims the skills of professional workers are needed "not only from the point of view of getting the job well done, but also from a safety point of view too".

He added that jobs such as "new baths and new kitchens" need to be done by people trained as electricians.

Mr Leech stated that most homeowners are capable of undertaking a number of tasks to improve a property, including painting and decorating.

The Drogheda Independent recently claimed that a kitchen can be the "focus" of a home and could ultimately be the ultimate selling point of any property.
