Homeowners have been urged to make small changes to improve the energy efficiency of their property.Homeowners looking for kitchen quotes should be aware of the energy efficiency improvements they can make through their projects, it has been said.Brits can make affordable and small changes to their properties to boost energy efficiency and become greener, Michael Holmes, spokesperson for the National Home Improvement Show, has pointed out.He explained that simple steps, such as fixing a dripping tap or fitting more efficient light bulbs, can make a huge difference to energy bills and help the planet.Those getting kitchen quotes should consider a new boiler, Mr Holmes advised, while people comparing bathroom quotes can ask for a displacement device in the toilet to reduce the amount of water used when it is flushed."Homeowners can also make small but effective changes to their life,” he continued, giving using a dishwasher and boosting insulation as two examples.Figures from Sainsbury’s Finance have revealed that a fifth of homeowners taking out personal loans in the first half of 2010 were planning to use the money to make home improvements.The average value of these borrowings was £9,225, which could go a long way with the right kitchen quote.Posted by Jack Smith
