Research highlights eco-friendly towns

Norwich is the UK's greenest location, according to a studyA new study has highlighted which towns and cities in the UK have the most eco-friendly services.Research published by information website locallife.co.uk has aimed to shed light on the most eco-friendly towns and cities in the UK.

The study worked out is findings by rating the number of businesses that offer green services, including the installation of double glazing, per person in each area.

It was revealed that Norwich topped the poll with one such firm per 1,453 people, while Peterborough came second with one green company for every 1,893 residents.

Other areas that performed well in the study included Basildon and Colchester, which both recorded top-20 positions.

Talking to the Basildon Echo, locallife.co.uk chairman Tony Martin said the study highlighted how many locations were choosing not to put green issues "on the back burner".
