The industry is estimated to be worth around £4.65 billion, but the Manchester Evening News reports that DGCOS founder Tony Pickup claimed it was responsible for 22,000 complaints to trading standards last year. Some 126 installers of cheap double glazing and conservatories have already signed up to the DGCOS, giving them accreditation as high-quality firms, the newspaper reports. There are a number of things that all installers accredited under the scheme must do, as a minimum, including provide DGCOS administrators with a minimum of ten customer references from installations they carried out within the last 12 months. They must also provide DGCOS administrators with a minimum of three supplier references who can be independently approached for quality assurance purposes.Posted by Daniel Brown
