Having been launched in Manchester, the scheme now has offices in Chorley. The independent ombudsman service for uPVC window suppliers and contractors in the double glazing and conservatory industry has been set up in Chorley.Launched by Tony Pickup, the Double Glazing and Conservatory Ombudsman Scheme (DGCOS) has its main offices in Manchester and now a second base has been set up in Chorley.A recruitment drive to sign up member companies has been launched and a TV and radio advertising campaign is to be run featuring former Crimewatch and Watchdog presenter Nick Ross.He is the spokesman for DGCOS, which will provide protection for homeowners using uPVC window suppliers and having doors and conservatories installed."Rogue traders have done serious harm to the reputation of the industry, so restoring confidence is important not just for consumers but for all good contractors," Mr Ross said when the scheme was announced on May 5th.Meanwhile, tenants on a housing estate in Warrington are being asked to help choose uPVC window suppliers to do work on their homes, the Warrington Guardian report.Posted by Liam Cass
