New heating system, like double glazing, is "eco friendly"

New system claimed to work as well as double glazingAn innovative heating system made by FARHO could reduce bills and help the environment, just like double glazing, according to the system's sales manager.A new heating system has joined double glazing on the list of eco-friendly home improvements that people should consider investing in, an expert has said.

The innovative heating system, made by FARHO, uses a special fluid which requires a small amount of electricity to heat so, when compared to other heating systems, it works out both cheaper and more environmentally friendly.

Gareth Bishop, UK sales manager for FARHO UK, said it is eco friendly, does not consume much energy and is non toxic and non corrosive.

The market for domestic heating products in the UK is valued at roughly £1.3 billion and new government legislation is driving the certification of new heating appliances with environmental credentials.

"We're in the process of speaking to the Carbon Trust now and getting approval for our products. It looks extremely hopeful," Mr Bishop said.

In August the Carbon Trust announced that an interest-free Energy Efficiency Loan it gave to a business helped it to install double glazing throughout its 100 year-old building, and reduced its energy bill by over 25 per cent.
