Nearly 40% 'planning to improve homes'

A number of Brits are planning home improvementsThe number of people looking for quotes on products including double glazing could rise as research predicts 40 per cent of Brits are looking to improve their homes.Almost 40 per cent of people in the UK are planning to improve their homes in the near future rather than move, according to new figures.

Research by insulation manufacturer Rockwool revealed that 39 per cent of homeowners intend to stay put in their current properties and make renovations rather take a look at the wider market.

A quarter of those intend to make their homes more efficient, which could lead many to invest in double glazing, while 11 per cent are looking to extend their property with projects including conservatories.

Hans Screuder, managing director of Rockwool, said it was "very good news" people were looking at issues including energy efficiency.

Recent figures from HSBC found that double glazing can add over £4,000 to the value of a property.ADNFCR-2394-ID-19183873-ADNFCR
