A multiple sclerosis sufferer feels his health will deteriorate if the local housing association does not fit double glazing in his home.A man who is waiting for a housing authority to fit double glazing windows in his home fears that, in the meantime, his health is deteriorating.Steven Savage has already suffered from ten heart attacks and breathing problems and feels that the leaking windows and damp in his house will cause him further health problems, the Nottingham Evening Post reports."Water comes into the house through the window, we are having to put towels under to catch it, and there is damp in the bedrooms," he told the newspaper. The 60-year-old has multiple sclerosis and a lung condition similar to emphysema and said that, for ten years, he has been asking Leicester Housing Association, which owns the property, to solve the damp problem, install double glazing windows and fix a hole in the path outside."I'm just so fed up," Mr Savage added.A Leicester Housing Association spokesman said that Mr Savage will be contacted shortly by the association's windows contractor to arrange a measurement survey.According to the Energy Saving Trust, installing double glazing windows not only ensures the elements are kept out but that heat is kept in and bills are reduced - by around £135 a year.Posted by Lucy Pritchard
