A man who was made redundant after working for 20 years in the cheap double glazing industry has set up his own glazing business in Swansea.A man who worked for 20 years fitting cheap double glazing before being made redundant must have realised that there is still plenty of demand for the energy-saving home improvements, as he has set up his own business in Swansea.Andy Dance worked for Anglian for nine years but lost his job in February 2009 due to the effects of the economic downturn, the South Wales Evening Post reports.Since then, he has worked on setting up his own business, Cymru Glazing and UPVC Repairs. He completed relevant courses at a local business centre, put together a business plan and went to the bank for funding, which he has been granted. "Swansea is a good city to launch a business in and there is a lot going on here. There is a lot of new business coming into the city," he told the newspaper.Work for glaziers in London is to increase as Haversham Borough Council recently secured £9 million of Decent Homes funding to fit cheap double glazing in all council-owned homes in the area.Posted by Matt Watts
