Lancashire police spread home security message

Police in Lancashire are taking part in home security roadshowsPolice in Lancashire are holding a series of roadshows in the region on the issue of home security.Property owners in Lancashire are being educated on the importance of home security as part of a new series of events organised by the region's police force.

As part of an operation to cut levels of burglary in the area, officers are holding crime prevention roadshows in Chorley and South Ribble to ensure people keep their personal property safe.

The Lancashire Telegraph reports that the next event will be held on July 15th in Leyland.

Pam Hodges, the crime prevention officer of Lancashire Police, told the newspaper: "Our advice is to keep windows and doors secured, even when you are home.

"And also to keep sheds and garages locked and valuables such as bikes and tools put away."

Avon and Somerset Constabulary recently launched a new guide for people in its region who want to know more about home security issues.
