Kitchen quotes 'will be thought about' after summer DIY projects will kick off after the summer is over.More people will be seeking kitchen quotes after the summer is complete, according to an industry expert.

Andrew Leech, director at the National Home Improvement Council, said that homeowners will adopt a more "positive attitude" towards bettering their property as we head into the autumn and winter months.

This attitude will also be helped by the clearing of any uncertainty about the coalition government, he added.

"Once we get the summer over and once we get the government more settled in - if it is going to settle in - then people will be taking a more positive attitude towards their properties and thinking about new kitchens and new bathrooms," Mr Leech stated.

The expert also said that people will think back to last year's bad winter and think what can be improved upon to make their lives easier.

His words came after GfK Retail and Technology UK repored that the market value of DIY and gardening stood at £5.8 billion in the first six months of the year.
