Kitchen quotes: Time-saving technology big in design trendsAn expert has said that people seeking kitchen quotes are increasingly including time-saving technology, such as induction hobs and convection ovens, in their designs.People who are looking for kitchen quotes are increasingly turning towards time-saving technology when choosing their appliances, an expert has said.

Stephen Wright, appliance sales manager at Nebraska Furniture Mart, told KansasCity.com that homeowners are choosing more modern versions of traditional appliances, such as induction hobs and convection ovens, in order to improve their kitchens.

Mr Wright explained that induction cooking uses magnets and means that it can take 90 seconds to boil a pan of water as opposed to ten to 14 minutes on a gas or electric appliances, whereas convection ovens "take a lot of guesswork out of baking".

He added: "You’re [also] seeing a lot of steam dishwashers because detergent companies are using less phosphates to be more eco-friendly. When it comes to colour, appliances are stainless steel or black, a few white. Bisque has gone away."

Last week, Ronnie Whelan from Essential Kitchen Bathroom Bedroom magazine said that the sort of kitchen quotes that DIY enthusiasts are now seeking reflects the change of function to a place that is the "hub of the home".
