A writer for the Independent said that the upcoming Living Kitchen trade show in Germany is set to host a range of top industry names, which will showcase their newest developments.

One example is the GREENKITCHEN 2.0 system, which claims to reduce energy costs by around 70 per cent and will be available in 2013.

Six Bauknecht prototypes are included in the design, such as the 4Pure water dispenser and a solar collector from the company.

"These appliances reduce energy usage by using only the amount of power and water that is absolutely necessary and reusing waste products," the commentator explained.

"Energy saving, intelligent appliances are fast becoming the major trend in kitchen goods."

Today, an interior designer told people looking for kitchen quotes to carefully consider the layout of their room, in order to avoid the "headache" of living with an awkward cooking space.
