A report on iAfrica.com said that a kitchen remodel not only adds significant value to a home, but can also improve a person's quality of life.

Julie Cosyns, owner of Designer Cucine, told the news provider that eco-friendliness and sustainability is all the rage these days, most notably in the kitchen.

"Energy and water-efficient appliances are increasingly sought after - in fact, most consumers are willing to pay more for sustainable features, provided that there is a tangible return on investment in the long-run," she said.

Ms Cosyns went on to say that multi-functional convenience was also important for people seeking kitchen quotes, as the cooking area is generally the hub of the home.

Pernilla Johansson, design director for Electrolux, recently told people looking for kitchen quotes that the strongest driver for design is open-planning and integration.
