Kitchen quotes: Cooking space is becoming new family room The kitchen is being used by more and more people.People considering undertaking a home improvement project have been told that kitchen quotes could be an important aspect, as this room is being used by more and more people.

Speaking to SeattlePi.com, Chris Gleason, author of Kitchen Makeovers for Any Budget, said that the kitchen is becoming the new family room.

He added that it has so often been said that it is now a cliché, aided by people gathering in the kitchen for parties, however, it is a trend which keeps gaining strength.

"A kitchen with an eating area was on the wish lists of 67 per cent of consumers polled at the end of 2009 about priorities that will guide their upcoming home improvements and the features they will look for in a new home," said the website, referring to research from Better Homes and Gardens.

SeattlePi.com said that paint should be used in the kitchen, as it is the most universal of all home décor elements.
