Involve children when designing their new bedroomsChildren should be involved in designing and creating their new bedrooms so that they can learn valuable skills, it has been suggested.Parents of children that are begging for a new bedroom as the have outgrown their current decor should allow their kids to be involved in the design process.

Letting kids take part in the process of design of their new bedroom will teach them "valuable" budgeting and home improvement skills, according to an article in the lifestyle section of the Echo-Pilot.

The children will then be able to take this knowledge and skills set and use it in later life when they have their own homes.

According to the newspaper, painting is one of the simplest and cheapest ways of transforming a tired boudoir and making it look like a brand new bedroom.

It suggests getting the young owner of the room to try doing some of the painting as, if they learn to paint well now they'll "never fear the job later" when they have to tackle the job in their own home.

For those who want to keep up with new bedroom trends, Meg Crossley, a senior editor at Canadian House & Home magazine recently told the Toronto Star that room sets including a mixture of different ethnic styles are currently in fashion.
