Installing new kitchen appliances will 'make Christmas cooking easier'Updating a kitchen can improve its functionality and make Christmas cooking easier, according to kitchen specialists.Over the Christmas period, when people do larger scale cooking, new appliances can make meals "easier and better", according to a kitchen appliance expert.

Grace Weyker of Kennedy-Hahn Appliances in Waukesha, Wisconsin, suggested a double oven as a good investment for people who often cook for large groups.

"Timing food preparation so that everything is ready at the same time is hard, especially when one dish requires a preheated temperature of 350 degrees F and the other dish requires a temperature of 475 degrees F."

She said a good alternative to a double oven is a warming drawer as side dishes can be kept warm while hot appetisers and main dishes are cooking.

Cheryl Ryan, of Kitchens By Design, said that a lot of people want to remodel their kitchen to make it more functional but also added that kitchens are often updated to reflect personal style.

The Daily Mail recently reported that men spend more time in the kitchen than women, but instead of cooking, they spend their time relaxing and eating.
