Brits are misinformed about energy efficiency and do not realise that installing cheap double glazing could save them £470 a year on their energy bills.Homeowners in the UK are spending nearly £500 a year extra on fuel costs because the have not got energy-efficient cheap double glazing.Research by the British Fenestration Rating Council (BFRC) has found that many Brits are misinformed about energy efficiency.According to the organisation, a third of people believe that a house loses most heat through the roof.However, poorly insulated windows are the single biggest contributor to loss of warmth in a home, according to the BFRC.People who currently live in a home with single glazed windows who install energy-efficient cheap double glazing could reduce their carbon emissions by almost a fifth, the organisation said.In doing so, they would also save as much as £470 per year on energy bills.The Residential Landlords' Association recently revealed that a growing number of tenants are looking for energy-efficient properties, including those with cheap double glazing.Posted by Glenn Derbyshire
