"Improved lighting is therefore a clear trend and LED lighting is seen everywhere both for practical and ambient purposes," she stated.

Ms Johansson went on to say that any future kitchen needs to be "honest, with a strong emphasis on sustainability with recycled materials".

Taking responsibility for what people have installed in their homes is an important thing for consumers to do, said the kitchen expert.

Another way of brightening up a kitchen is to have folding, sliding doors, which will allow plenty of natural light into the cooking space, according to Apropos-Tectonic.com.
