Ill man fears death from lack of double glazing

Adam Keogh has cystic fibrosis and said he fears his health will deteriorate without double glazing.A man who suffers from cystic fibrosis is begging his local council to re-house him in a property with double glazing as he fears he "won't survive the winter" in the caravan he is currently living in.A cystic fibrosis sufferer has said he fears he will not survive the winter unless the council move him out of a caravan and into a council house with double glazing.

Adam Keogh, 41, fears that he will not be able to keep warm enough living in a caravan in Essex over the winter, which would lead to him being seriously ill, the Echo reported.

According to the newspaper, Mr Keogh moved to the caravan in May after splitting up with his partner and applied to Castle Point Council to be re-housed.

He said he has contacted the council five times and shown officers medical letters stating he must live somewhere with double glazing and central heating, but the council have not acted.

Speaking to the newspaper Mr Keogh said that, for him, an everyday cold could lead to pneumonia as his immune system is not strong enough to cope.

"My fear is if I stay here, I won't survive the winter," he added.

According to the Energy Saving Trust, double glazing can cut heat loss through windows by half.
