Homeowners 'can enjoy conservatories all year-round'

An expert has claimed conservatories are ideal for use in all kinds of weatherConservatories can be used by homeowners in both the summer and winter months, an expert has claimed.Property owners have been advised by an expert that they can enjoy conservatories in all kinds of weather.

According to Paul Fitzgerald, owner of Richmond Oak Conservatories, it is a myth that the extensions can be too warm to sit in the summer and too cold to enjoy during winter.

Talking to the Independent, he explained that new forms of double glazing are helping to tackle the issue.

He said: "There are new types of glass coming out all the time - one launched last week which is three times more efficient than 15 years ago and will reflect the heat inwards on a cold day but doesn't do the opposite on a hot day.

"There are also types of solar-controlled glass for roofs that keep out 75 per cent of the heat, glare and UV light."

Recent figures from HSBC claimed that adding a conservatory to a property can increase its value by over £7,000.ADNFCR-2394-ID-19211608-ADNFCR
