Home security highlighted by Operation Protect

Police in West Mercia are working to raise awareness of home securityThe importance of home security is being highlighted by police in Worcester as part of a major operation.West Mercia Police have revealed they are focusing on the importance of home security in the coming months.

According to Berrows Journal, officers in the area are starting Operation Protect to ensure that people do all they can to protect their properties from the risk of burglary in the summer months.

Part of the plans will see officers sent to meet residents in the area and give them information packs on securing their properties.

Detective chief superintendent Graham Smith told the newspaper: "While we are committed to targeting persistent burglars and bringing them to justice to ensure our community remains a safe place to live, the public also has its part to play."

Cheshire police recently warned people in Crewe to ensure they secure their homes after five burglaries recently occurred in the area in which the criminal just walked through unlocked doors.ADNFCR-2394-ID-19193454-ADNFCR
