Cannock Chase Council has issued a warning about flytipping as a result of home improvement work.A council in Staffordshire is warning people embarking on home improvement over the bank holiday weekend about the waste produced, it has been reported Cannock Chase Council has been handing out leaflets and local businesses have put posters in their windows reminding households and tradesman about the disposal of waste produced from home improvements over the bank holiday weekend, reports About My Area. The council is reminding people and home improvement firms that waste generated needs to be "disposed of properly", either through using a skip or taking the waste to a licensed landfill site. It has also issued firm warnings about flytipping fines which it will hand out to people found guilty of the practice. Tony Williams, Cannock Chase Council Environmental Sustainability Leader, said: "I urge everyone to dispose of their waste correctly and I thank the DIY stores and builders' merchants for their help in getting this message out to the public. "The council has a zero-tolerance approach to flytipping and will always prosecute when there is enough evidence." A new pilot study to understand the full extent of flytipping in Lancashire has been launched by the Environment Agency, according to the Lancashire Telegraph.
