Home improvements 'an easy way to value to a property'

People can add value to their properties by making improvements, it is claimed An expert has claimed that home improvement projects are "a really easy way of adding space and value" to a property.Homeowners who are seeking quotes for renovations have been told by an expert that such projects are "a really easy way" adding upping the value of a property.

Jason Orme, editor of Homebuilding & Renovating magazine, said a number of people are looking to either "move or improve" at the moment, with latter proving useful for those who want extra space in their home.

He added that the economic climate appears to have changed the attitudes of many homeowners.

Mr Orme explained: "There's a cultural shift towards 'make do and mend', rather than the consumable, 'chuck away' kind of society.

"That is no more evident than in the home, and definitely people are looking to improve their homes and looking to spend a bit of time themselves doing it."
