More people are now experimenting with home improvement projects.Interest in home improvement and self-build projects in the UK continues to grow, according to a survey which was carried out at the National Homebuilding & Renovating Show.According to the research, which was carried out at the NEC in March, 29 per cent of visitors were involved in a self-build project, up from 20 per cent in 2009.Furthermore, 38 per cent were taking part in a renovation home improvement drive, compared to 34 per cent last year.This confidence in home improvement was also mirrored by statistics from Nationwide, which showed that house prices in the UK have risen by 10.5 per cent in the year to the end of April.Homeowners who are interested in picking up tips and advice on home improvement projects are also being advised to attend the Southern Homebuilding & Renovating Show, which takes place at Sandown Park on June 26th and 27th.Last month, the National Home Improvement Council said that property owners should look to improve their energy efficiency when carrying out improvement work.Posted by Glenn Derbyshire
