Hollywood star encourages 'green home improvement'Looking after the environment should be a priority.Property owners who are looking to make home improvements should do so in a green manner, according to a Hollywood star.

Gwyneth Paltrow, star of the latest Iron Man film and married to Coldplay singer Chris Martin, told her weekly Goop newsletter that people should look to make their abodes more environmentally friendly.

She recommended including energy-saving light bulbs when redesigning a kitchen or bathroom, while installing proper insulation was also proposed.

"Not only (do we need) to understand the ways in which fossil fuel consumption has shaped us, but what we can now do to lessen (or even end) our dependence on this dwindling resource," added Paltrow.

Her words came after Echo-Pilot.com said that modern DIY fans are operating with a tight budget and therefore need to look carefully at what they spend their money on, while also making sure that any improvements can add value to a property.
