Holidaymakers targeted over home security

Residents in West Mercia are being warned over home securityPolice in West Mercia have collaborated with travel agents on a major campaign to raise awareness of home security.A major home security initiative is seeing police in West Mercia work with travel agents.

It has been revealed that police in Redditch and Bromsgrove have given agents a range of leaflets on crime prevention which they can then pass on to customers who book their summer holiday.

The Bromsgrove Advertiser reports that the document includes information on home security and the importance of keeping UPVC windows and doors locked.

PC Stan Baker, crime risk manager for Bromsgrove and Redditch, said: "By following these tips, your house and belongings will be safer and you can relax and enjoy your holiday more, knowing you have done everything you can to ensure that you'll find your home as you left it on your return."

Officers in Preston and West Yorkshire are also handing out leaflets as part of efforts to boost awareness of the importance of home security issues.ADNFCR-2394-ID-19270658-ADNFCR
