Haringey residents given chance to vote for cheap double glazing

Haringey could recieve windows like these if they express an interest to the councilA low-carbon project is being launched in Haringey tomorrow, giving residents the chance to express interest in having cheap double glazing installed in their homes.A low-carbon project which could involve the installation of cheap double glazing is being launched in Haringey tomorrow (February 27th).

Using a grant of over £600,000, awarded by the Greater London Authority and the Department of Energy and Climate Change, Haringey Council and its partners will strive to transform Haringey into a Low Carbon Zone (LCZ).

At the launch tomorrow, residents will be able to voice which local community buildings they would like to see made more eco-friendly and which energy saving measures, such as cheap double glazing, they are most interested in installing in their own homes.

Claire Kober, Haringey Council's leader, said: "The council is committed to this project but we need everyone to do what they can to help us become the greenest borough and do our bit to tackle climate change."

The launch of the project will take place at Muswell Hill Primary School from 10:00 until 15:00.

Earlier this month, mayor of London Boris Johnson invited homeowners to voice what they would like to see included in the city's climate action plans.
