Gunthorpe set for security advice

Police in Gunthorpe are to spead the word on home securityPolice are to visit the Gunthorpe area in Peterborough to offer local residents advice on home security.Residents in Gunthorpe are to be given advice on home security from police over the course of this week.

It has been announced that officers from Werrington police station are to provide generally security advice, as well information on Smartwater and marking property, at a series of events across the area.

According to Peterborough Today, the support has been inspired by a spate of burglaries and thefts in the region.

Sergeant Alan Bradshaw said that everyone is invited to attend the sessions.

He told the newspaper: "We are always working to catch those responsible for burglary and carry out regular patrols, but we also want to encourage people to take their own crime prevention precautions and make their homes more secure."

Recent figures from Gocompare.com suggested that up to a third of Brits have not bought security products for their garden in the past 12 months.
