Govt energy-saving initiatives 'will help change behaviour'The government's attempts to encourage people to improve their energy efficiency have been praised by one website.The government's Carbon Reduction Commitment Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC EES) is a positive step forward in driving down the nation's carbon emissions, one information website has said.

CRC EES will see revenue raised from the sale of emissions allowances redistributed back to participants, with those who have increased efficiency receiving more of the money.

It is hoped that the initiative, which could help people who are already using cheap double glazing to save even more cash on their energy bills, will help to change consumer behaviour.

A spokesperson for The Renewable Energy Centre.co.uk said that the scheme will encourage more people to show they are serious about climate change and reducing carbon emissions.

"The CRC EES alongside the Feed In Tariff scheme serves the interest of both businesses and consumers and is a positive driver towards ensuring the UK can actually meet its 2015 and 2020 targets," she added.
