Fitted kitchens increase property value, Brits say

New fitted kitchens can increase the value of a property.To increase the value of a property, 68.2 per cent of people think kitchen improvements, such as installing a fitted kitchen, are the key.The majority of people think that kitchen improvements, such as installing a fitted kitchen, would increase the value of their properties, according to a survey.

Conducted by the National Home Improvement Show, it found that 68.2 per cent of people thought that making improvements on their kitchens, perhaps by getting a kitchen quote and installing a fitted kitchen, would increase the value of their homes.

George Clarke, presenter of Build a New Life and Channel 4's The Home Show, said that the current trend for kitchens and dining rooms is a "much more informal feel".

Mr Clarke added that there has been increasing popularity in "clever open plan design", where open plan kitchen and dining allow for a separate "cosy" living area.

"You can design very beautiful modern houses that are made to feel homely and cosy and warm," he said.

The National Home Improvement Show survey found that 56.6 per cent of people are completing home improvements to make the home more attractive or comfortable.
