Before undertaking home improvements, big decisions need to be made.Homeowners need to take a look at their property and think if anyone else would like to buy it in its current state, according to an expert.Nick Salmon, commercial director of Harrison Murray, said that simple tweaks and home improvements can give their home the edge when it comes to selling it."A number of people wrongly think that a complete overhaul will attract more potential buyers. This can be expensive and there is no guarantee that the way they have spent their money will be to a new owner's liking," he stated, adding that keeping it simple is often the best and most rewarding action to take. His words came after research from Halifax showed that 56 per cent of homeowners have carried out home improvement work in the last 12 months, spending on average £6,362.Jose Cabrera, a spokesperson for C&L Studio, recently said that less is more when it comes to improving a property.Posted by Glenn Derbyshire
