Dudley bar to receive double glazing?

Double glazing would help to reduce the building's energy bills Dudley Zoo is seeking approval from its local council to renovate and fit double glazing in a bar that has fallen into disrepair.A derelict bar in Dudley could be re-vamped and have double glazing fitted if the local council approves plans.

Dudley Zoo chief executive Peter Suddock has applied to Dudley Council to make minor alterations to the Grade II listed building on Castle Hill, which used to be Bentleys Wine Bar, the Express and Star reports.

If plans are approved, the building would be renovated and Dudley Zoo's management and administrative staff would move there from their present offices at the Broadway, Dudley.

A large open office and meeting room would be created, as would a manager's office, toilets and storage rooms.

Level access to the building would be created through the installation of a ramp from the existing car park, the newspaper reports.

The installation of double glazing would not only improve the appearance of the building, but, according to the Energy Saving Trust, would cut energy bills and carbon emissions.
