Double lock your cheap double glazing doorThere has been a spate of burglaries in Manchester leading police to remind homeowners that they need to double lock their cheap double glazing door.Homeowners with a cheap double glazing door have been reminded to make sure it is double locked after a spate of burglaries in the Manchester area.

There have been several incidents in the region where offenders have entered through uPVC doors and police are urging people to make sure they secure them properly at all times.

Homeowners should pay particular attention to securing their cheap double glazing door at night and when the house is unoccupied, according to police.

"If you don't lift the handle and double-lock a uPVC door with the key, then even if the handle is lifted up on the inside, it's as good as leaving the door wide open," said Lisa Mogan, crime reduction adviser for Greater Manchester Police's Wigan Division.

People were also advised to keep keys in a safe place, rather than leaving them near doors and windows.

Police in south Manchester are also reminding homeowners to keep the windows and doors at the front of the house locked if they are spending time in the garden in the warmer weather.
