Homeowners have been warned that energy prices are set to rise, increasing the need for energy-efficient double glazing quotes.People should consider comparing energy-efficient double glazing quotes, as the gas and electricity industry regulator has warned that UK utility bills are due to rise over the next ten years. The Office of the Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) said that new investment that was required to update the UK's "ageing networks" would be funded by an increase of around £6 per year in consumers gas and electricity bills. However, the Guardian reported that energy price comparison websites think that the increases could be far higher, and may lead to annual bills of over £2,000 in the next decade.Tom Lyon, an energy expert at uSwitch.com, said: "The £32 billion needed to improve Britain's pipes and wires network alone could equate to £123 for every household. This is, however, only a fraction of the overall cost of the investment programme, which equates to £769 per household [a year]."Last month, Tim Doherty from the National Self Build & Renovation Centre, said that homeowners could save up to £300 in energy bills per year if they complemented double glazing quotes with DIY insulation.Posted by Helen Sykes
