Residents are learning how double glazing and turning electrical items off can cut their utility bills as part of Energy Saving Week.As part of Energy Saving Week, residents of east Cheshire are learning ways of saving energy, including installing double glazing and turning lights off.Tomorrow (Thursday 22nd) Cheshire East Council officers will be promoting computer power-down devices, which allow computers to shut-down automatically when unused, and offering advice and information on how to reduce energy wastage.Energy Saving Trust experts will also be on hand to provide advice on saving energy both in the home and on the move.Councillor David Brickhill, portfolio holder for environment, said: "National Energy Saving week is a perfect opportunity to inform Cheshire East residents of what they can do to lower their own energy usage, even simple things like turning lights off when you leave a room can make a big difference."The Energy Saving Trust has assigned a theme for each day of Energy Saving Week, today is Smarter Driving Day and tomorrow is Switch Off/Turn Down/Turn Off Day.Written by James Hall.
