DIY and home improvement skills 'attractive to women' Women are looking for men who are good at DIY.Men who undertake DIY and home improvement jobs are more attractive to women, according to new research.

A study by Bosch found that being handy with a tool kit could help men find romance, with 37 per cent of women stating that they are after a man who can put up a shelf or carry out other DIY jobs.

This is favourable when compared to mechanic skills, with 34 per cent wanting a man to know their way around a car engine.

Furthermore, only 16 per cent want their partner to be green-fingered, while just 13 per cent of women are after a man who makes a great cocktail.

Chris Tidy, spokesperson for Bosch, said: "While all women love to be romanced, it seems your DIY skills are the thing they are really looking out for."

Recently, Dr Hasim Altan, from the University of Sheffield, stated that now could be the perfect time for home improvements, before autumn and the colder months set in.
