A new 'eco-conservatory' has been released by an industry specialist.People looking for an energy-efficient extension have been told that ConservatoryLand has just unveiled its latest creation. The eco-conservatory will be one of the greenest extensions on the market today, according to the firm, as it incorporates recycled uPVC thermal inserts inside the frame.Furthermore, insulated corner posts and 28mm low emissivity, self-cleaning, solar control double glazing is also used in the frames.Property owners seeking conservatory quotes will also be able to choose between two roof glazing options, with either a 24mm low emissivity, solar control double glazing finish, or 32mm polycarbonate sheets with solar control foil inserts."There are a number of official energy ratings for windows and doors but not for conservatories. In October this year, new building regulations are scheduled to come in to force meaning that the minimum legal requirement for double glazing installations will be to install C-rated products or above," said David Bingham, director of the firm.Recently, property owners were told by TV presenter Phil Spencer, writing for the Daily Telegraph, that extensions, such as conservatories, can add value to a property.Posted by Helen Sykes
