Appeal Conservatory Blinds recently commissioned an independent study on the thermal performance of their blinds in a conservatory.

The survey found that the blinds are thermally efficient and help to retain heat in the winter.

Richard Hussey, of Appeal Conservatory Blinds, said: "Not only do blinds put the finishing touch to the conservatory but they allow the room to be used all year round and can help provide savings on household energy bills."

He went on to say that, in the summer months, 80 per cent of heat enters a conservatory through its roof, so blinds can also be used to reflect the sun's rays, keeping the space cool.

For those without conservatories, one of the ways the Energy Saving Trust recommends to keep a property warm in the winter is to install double glazing windows.
