Conservatories to be more efficient?

Government plans may see conservatories made more efficientHomeowners may have to make their conservatories more energy efficient under new government plans.People who have conservatories and home extensions may have to make them more energy efficient in the near future, it has been suggested.

It is believed that the government is looking at plans to amend part of its building regulations to include such structures as part of major proposals to cut the number of carbon emissions created by the UK's properties.

The draft consultation would see conservatories included in the plans for the first time, meaning they would have to meet strict efficiency targets and may need double glazing.

Floors and walls have also need to meet certain criteria, which suggested UPVC doors may also be needed on the extensions.

Details about the potential changes to legislation have come after the Glass and Glazing Federation launched a new online tool designed to highlight how much money people could save by installing double glazing at their homes.ADNFCR-2394-ID-19173905-ADNFCR
