People should not just view climate change as a global issue and must take steps to improve the efficiency of their homes, an expert has claimed.Tackling climate change is not just a problem on a global scale, according to the chief executive of the UK Green Building Council (UK-GBC).Paul King has claimed that people can do a lot on a domestic level to battle the issue, particularly through improving the energy efficiency of their homes.Writing for the BBC's Green Room, he explained that around a third of carbon emissions come from energy used in homes."It is not only carbon that's going out of the window - and for that matter the roof, walls and floor - it is our hard-earned money," he wrote on the website."But imagine if we could transform our homes from leaky, draughty places that guzzle energy, into more comfortable, brighter, places - warmer in winter and cooler in summer - with smaller bills."The UK-GBC was originally established in February 2007 to improve the government's plans on sustainability.
