The $42 million (£27.8 million) building was designed by architecture firm AC Martin Partners Incorporated.

Double glazing makes up entire walls of the structure and the obscuring channel glass used provides the laboratories within with both privacy and light-scattering properties, according to glassguides.com.

"The building defines a new gateway to the campus with a glowing facade of channel glass - establishing a unifying and defining landmark for Azusa Pacific University," AC Martin Partners Incorporated's website stated.

Another good property of cheap double glazing is that it provides insulation and, therefore, improves the energy efficiency of buildings.

Nearly 200 homeowners in west Belfast could soon enjoy cheaper energy bills as they too are to receive cheap double glazing.

The Northern Ireland Housing Executive announced recently that over £470,000-worth of external improvements are to be carried out on homes in the area.
