Cheap double glazing: Homeowners becoming greenerMore people are looking to make their property energy efficient.Property owners are creating "innovative new ways" of making their home energy efficient, according to an industry expert, which might include installing cheap double glazing.

Vernon Pethard, founder of newhomesforsale.co.uk, said that everyone is becoming more conscious of environmental issues and house builders have been working harder than ever to create energy-efficient homes with more sustainable construction.

"People are already seeking greener ways of living and new homebuilders are leading the way in innovative new ways of sourcing materials. Builders are continually researching environmentally friendly ways of construction, better methods of heating and insulating," he added.

Mr Pethard went on to say that builders are also aiming to use recyclable materials and to preserve the landscape as much as they can.

His words came after housing minister Grant Shapps announced that councils and developers could be given much more flexibility to meet ambitious eco-standards to ensure all new homes are zero carbon from 2016.
