Changing trends 'could boost popularity of cheap double glazing'

Changing trends 'could boost popularity of cheap double glazing'An expert has claimed consumers are looking to cut their home improvement budgets, which encourages them to buy cheap double glazing.

Consumers are changing their outlook on home improvements in a way which could boost interest in cheap double glazing, it has been suggested.

Eliot Sefrin outlined in a column for Kitchen & Bath Design that 2010 looks set to mark "a new era" for renovations, as the economic climate leads many to cut the amount they spend on improvements.

He added that people are no longer interested in the "more-is-better luxury" which has dominated the market in recent years.

"Conspicuous consumption is no longer cool. Discretionary purchases are being re-examined and deferred," he explained.

"Design, style and product preferences have changed. So have client expectations."

A recent article in the Courier suggested that homeowners who live close to wind turbines should consider having cheap double glazing installed.

Talking to the newspaper, Alexander Shand, who lives close to two turbines, said new windows filter out some of the noise generated by the renewable technology systems.
