Businesses could install cheap double glazing to save energyBusinesses hoping to reduce their carbon footprints could install cheap double glazing, Green Consultancy has suggested.To save energy and reduce their carbon footprint, businesses could replace old windows with cheap double glazing, Green Consultancy has suggested.

Michael Webb, client services manager at the independent specialist in energy and environmental management, said that businesses should focus on reducing their like-for-like use of energy by increasing their efficiency.

He went on to say that there is a "huge amount of scope to do this" and that the best measures to use or features to install vary from one business to another.

As well as installing cheap double glazing, businesses could make use of energy efficient lighting and fit insulation, Mr Webb explained.

His comments follow the publication of a press release from Datamonitor that claimed a new Ofgem certification scheme could change the UK green energy market.

To be eligible for certification, energy suppliers have to demonstrate to an independent panel of experts that their tariffs result in a reduction of the minimum threshold of carbon dioxide emissions.
